[ Story ]

Lily Franky's autobiography, which depicted the profound love between a mother and a child and sold more than two million copies, is adapted to film by Matsuoka Joji of Farewell, Kuro (Sayonara Kuro).
Mom (Kikikilin) went back to her parents' home in Chikuho with me (Odagiri Joe) when I was three years old, and raised me on her own. When I was 15, I left home to go to an art high school outside the prefecture. Thereafter I managed to go on to an art college in Tokyo and graduated. When I was leading a dissolute life without a job, I heard that Mom had been diagnosed as having cancer. I started to work hard, and when I could afford a decent life, I called her to Tokyo and we started to live together. Mom was kind to my friends and colleagues, and soon the house was filled with good friends who had been drawn to Mom. But the good times did not last long as Mom passed away; and so I climb the Tokyo Tower which holds fond memories for me.
