[ Story ]

A hit maker Yaguchi Shinobu of Waterboys and Swing Girls unfolds his favorite entertaining group drama in this latest movie, featuring people with various occupations relating to the operating of airplanes. The end product is a movie which cannot be bundled in a usual category of aviation movies characterized as panic movies.
The story mainly takes place on board the flight No.1980 bound for Honolulu from Japan. For Suzuki Kazuhiro (Tanabe Seiichi), the co-pilot, this flight is the final test for his promotion to become captain. For Saito Etsuko (Ayase Haruka), a newly recruited cabin attendant, this is her memorable debut on an international flight. However, the aircraft hits a bird soon after takeoff and the aircraft is forced to turn back to Japan due to technical failures. Then they are faced with yet another challenge - difficult landing conditions due to an approaching typhoon. They manage to overcome the challenge with the help of instructions issued by the operation control center on the ground. The young crew in aviation-related occupations grow in experience after this bittersweet but fulfilling flight.
